never had someone in band call me a “cheater” for being able to play a difficult passage because i’ve played it before.
why don’t you go practice and maybe you will be able to play it as well, dumbass.
that’s like the equivalent of saying “wow you can answer this question, you must be a cheater because you studied it before”
even though it was probably said in jest, it was still a super naive thing to say and took me quite aback

Why live a life full of “what ifs?” when i can live a life of “why nots?”.

woooo made it to tahoe with plenty of time, left at 7am got there around 2. just barely made it before the storm. didnt even need chains!
today was my first time officially being in snow. ive gone skiing and stuff before, but it wasnt quite like this. being in the middle of a snowstorm, having our own 8 person cabin.
JUMPING INTO FRESH SNOW IS SO MUCH FUN AND MAKING SNOW ANGELS.
and then hotubbing with a rum&coke while the snow falls. damn this is fun.
now to fall on my ass for an entire day tomorrow wooo

woo turkey was good, had a bunch of rice and chinese dishes and crab
best part of tonight was my grandpa, who is like 85, going completes NUTS over a copy machine/scanner/printer we have at our house. (he lives in san jose) ive never seen him so excited and energetic about something to me is so simple. he was so happy that there existed a machine which allows him to copy pages.
i think it’s amazing that technology like this can make people so happy. my grandpa still writes everything by hand, and when he was growing up there was no way he’d have anything like a scanner so accessible which could make copies of paper instantaneously.
while i was helping him and he was so bumbly and happy that he was dropping pages everywhere lol, i saw with my terrible chinese that these were his memoirs.
i just helped my grandpa copy 30 pages of his handwritten chinese(first draft? he said he had more) memoirs…how’s that for family bonding
UPDATE: just talked to my grandma, and she said it’s been too long and she can’t remember when she got married lol (84), but she told me that they were a good example of being happy for a long time. my grandpa was 22 when he got married. he is 89 this year. my grandparents have been married for 67 years. dayum.
