thanksgiving
woo turkey was good, had a bunch of rice and chinese dishes and crab
best part of tonight was my grandpa, who is like 85, going completes NUTS over a copy machine/scanner/printer we have at our house. (he lives in san jose) ive never seen him so excited and energetic about something to me is so simple. he was so happy that there existed a machine which allows him to copy pages.
i think it’s amazing that technology like this can make people so happy. my grandpa still writes everything by hand, and when he was growing up there was no way he’d have anything like a scanner so accessible which could make copies of paper instantaneously.
while i was helping him and he was so bumbly and happy that he was dropping pages everywhere lol, i saw with my terrible chinese that these were his memoirs.
i just helped my grandpa copy 30 pages of his handwritten chinese(first draft? he said he had more) memoirs…how’s that for family bonding
UPDATE: just talked to my grandma, and she said it’s been too long and she can’t remember when she got married lol (84), but she told me that they were a good example of being happy for a long time. my grandpa was 22 when he got married. he is 89 this year. my grandparents have been married for 67 years. dayum.
