Big Family
havent posted for a while, not much to post
wasting my summer away, well not exactly; i am doing stuff, like reading (almost finished Moby Dick), having fun with my Klingon book and models etc; im gonna stop building models for a while and try to get into making R/C planes. let’s see if i can get this hobby into shape before summer ends. so far i am lkike 7/10 for my summer goals. not bad, but i dropped some out haha
too much to catch up on…so have this convenient “read more” if you want to take a peek.
let’s see now, what have i been up to. this whole weekend was pretty much family stuff. cousins, and family friends whom i’ve known since probably 4th grade. we really have grown up together, there are only 2 more girls left in high school now. this year we had 2 graduate, last year it was me, my cousin and our friend. all these years and we can still bear to see each other month after month (sometimes we hang out for like 3 days straight) yet we all lead different lives but are still connected, how fun!
since most people are posting a july 4th, i too shall join in. we brought over the family friends (we call it Big Family) to the palo alto chili cook off, which was nice just to hang out at mitchell, eat hamburgers and sample chili. saw a lot of people i recognized which was a given, overall just fun hanging out.
at nighttime we were gonna do a last minute bbq, but our grill broke so my dad bought a new one. with my newfound building skills i quickly assembled it, BUT it still didn’t work, and i think it was the old propane tanks fault :( we saw like 5 minutes of fireworks LAME so ended up just lighting sparklers and flower bloomers in my backyard.
today was “sports” as we used to call it back in the day. Big Family would play our failed version of soccer/basketball/football every sunday, at the same middle school, and then go to the same hometown buffet afterwards. we hadn’t played in years since some of the older kids started high school, so we decided to revisit some old past times. good times hanging out, and the times are a changin’. sometimes i wish i could relive a couple years in the past, but then i realize there is so much more and so many more memories/traditions to create
